Mobile applications are installed locally on a mobile phone – they don't need a browser. We implement such applications based on platforms such as Java ME, iPhone SDK or Google Android.
At present, Java ME is the most commonly used platform. We use it to create complex applications that can access a phone's peripheral devices. The possibilities are endless – here are three examples:
- By accessing the mobile phone’s camera, we can use tags on product packaging or on other objects. These tags are called QR-Codes).
- With Location Based Services, we can offer information which refers to the user’s location.
- By accessing the calendar, we can save and administer dates in the user's mobile phone.
